Celebrating a Decade of ONU Lacrosse: Alumni Weekend

This Friday marks an exciting milestone for the ONU lacrosse program as we host our annual alumni game at 7 p.m. on October 4th. This year is particularly special as we celebrate our program's 10th anniversary. Every year, we come together to honor the players who have worn the Polar Bear jersey before us, and this time, for the first time ever, the alumni team will actually outnumber the current squad! It’s amazing to reflect on how far our program has come in just a decade. We’ve built a strong tradition, and I’m especially looking forward to catching up with my friends and former teammates, Ben and Bennet. These guys were seniors last season and graduated, but more than just great leaders on the field, they were even better friends off it. I miss the little things, like our film sessions with our position group. Those sessions weren't just about breaking down plays, they were times when we could just be ourselves, share a few laughs, and goof around with the fellas. Those are memories I’ll always cherish.

It’s also going to be interesting to see how this year’s squad performs. While we might have fewer numbers, the talent on this roster is undeniable. The alumni team will have the numbers advantage, but I have no doubt this current squad will show up ready to play and compete. So, as we take the field this weekend, it’s not just about reliving the glory days. It’s about celebrating our lacrosse family, the friendships that go beyond the game, and the tradition that continues to grow stronger with every alumni game.

Thanksgiving recap

 Thanksgiving break was a much-needed reset, filled with family, laughter, and amazing food. It started with a weekend spent with my sister, Cailee, and our dog, Brodie. Our parents were out of town celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday, so it was just the three of us holding down the fort. On Saturday, Cailee and I decided to shake things up and head to Topgolf. End of Semester push

 As we near the end of the semester, it’s crunch time, the time when mental fatigue sets in, and the finish line feels both close and far away. This period demands resilience and focus, pushing us to power through heavy workloads, exams, and the remaining assignments. The excitement of the semester's start has been replaced with a need to finish strong, knowing that the hard work now will lead to a well-earned break. I’m especially looking forward to heading home to Maryland for Thanksgiving. This year feels even more special, as my dad just celebrated his 50th birthday, and my mom will be turning 50 soon, too. They’re in a phase of celebrating life with friends and family, embracing every moment together. Being able to share in these milestone moments with them adds a lot of meaning to going home, and I’m grateful for the chance to unwind and reconnect. Chapter 11: Marketing w/ Tiktok

TikTok has grown incredibly fast, evolving from the quirky short-video app to a powerful marketing platform that brands are using to connect with millions of people worldwide. It launched in 2016, and now, with over 1.5 billion users, it’s become the go-to place for reaching Gen Z and Millennials. While brands are diving into TikTok to find new audiences, my own experience with the app is a bit more laid-back. Mostly, I’m there for the laughs, watching comedy clips, viral challenges, and funny skits that make the rounds.
