Thanksgiving recap
Thanksgiving break was a much-needed reset, filled with family, laughter, and amazing food. It started with a weekend spent with my sister, Cailee, and our dog, Brodie. Our parents were out of town celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday, so it was just the three of us holding down the fort. On Saturday, Cailee and I decided to shake things up and head to Topgolf. She works there part time and gets free gameplay, perfect for a couple of rookies like us. Let me just say, if there were a prize for the worst Topgolf score, we’d probably be sharing the trophy. It was all in good fun, though, with plenty of laughs and a few balls that barely made it past the edge of the bay. Brodie wasn’t too impressed with our skills, but he got a ton of attention when we got home. The adventure didn’t stop there.
On Sunday night, my parents' flight from Atlanta got
canceled, so Cailee and I had to pick them up from the airport Monday morning
instead. The delays weren’t ideal, but it gave us more time to hang out, and
Brodie enjoyed the extra cuddles with them when they finally got back. The rest
of the week was pretty low key but perfect. Thanksgiving dinner was a feast as
usual, with all the classics and then some. My favorite dish every year is my
Aunt Tami’s corn pudding. There’s just something about the sweet, creamy
texture that makes it stand out on a plate full of turkey and sides.
All in all, the break was everything I needed. Time with
loved ones, great food, and even some new memories at Topgolf made it one to
remember. Now, it’s back to the grind as the semester wraps up. But I’ll be
holding onto the warmth of Thanksgiving as we head into the holiday season.
Topgolf sounds like it was so much fun and I am jealous that you have a connection to get free plays there. All the food is also another pulse the break and that corn pudding sounds so good. I'm glad to hear you had a nice and relaxing break!
